How to get a flower named after someone....?

For a birthday gift this year, I'd like to have a flower named after a friend of mine. Does anyone know how I can do this? Is there a legit. website I could visit to have this done? Pls. help if you can. Thanks much!

The best way is to develop a new type and patent it calling it what ever you wish.
Reply:You need to produce a NEW unique plant and you can name it anything you like


Maybe there is plant propagotors who develop new varieties that you can name but they will retain rights to owbership and royalties
Reply:there's so many plants with names already... unless your friend's name is very unusual, there's likely one out there already.... especially in roses or daylily.....put her name like this in a Google search....
